Reflective Post Module 8

I disagree with the idea that test are the only objective assessment tool for student learning. As stated by researchers at http://www.standford.edu/, "Objective assessments capture information about recall of factual knowledge and are less useful for assessing higher-order thinking skills due to their structured response". I do not believe that objective test allow students the ability to demonstrate knowledge but just the nact of memory. Memorization does not represent knowledge.

I am living proof of the fact that objective test do not deomonstrate knowledge. Many individuals, as myself, experience major test anxiety causing failure of objective test. So my test results do not represent my knowledge of information. Given the opportunity to be assessed through performance assessment measures, allows a person of my learning challenges, to demonstrate complete knowledge and higher-order thinking skills.
